Postmoderna Museet
Postmoderna Museet is a museum of urban experiences. It is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In its permanent collection are five unmissable Stockholm experiences. These are Urban Knitting, Parkour, Graffiti, Skateboarding and Cultural Diversity. Besides this permanent collection, Postmoderna Museet currently presents the exhibition entitled “Accommodating Roughhouse”. This exhibition provides visitors a sneak peek into the making of a new experience which will soon become a part of Postmoderna’s permanent collection. This “experience-in-progress” is to be hosted by a skateboarding park which is being planned for the southern Stockholm neighborhood of Högdalen. Planned as the largest of its kind in Europe, and named the “Highvalley Skatepark,” this venue will be born out of a collaboration between skaters, politicians, designers and city planners.
Thanks to this current exhibition, the museum’s visitors will, for the first time, have the opportunity to witness the process by which an urban experience becomes a part of Postmoderna’s permanent collection.
