Temporal Densities
“If you know Time as well as I do” said the Hatter, “you wouldn’t talk about wasting it. It’s him.” “I don’t know what you mean” said Alice.
“Of course you don’t” the Hatter said. Tossing his head contemptuously. “I dare say that you never ever spoke to Time!” ~Lewis Carroll
“Design time – create experience” is the mantra of experience design. But how can time be designed? How can it be used as a material?
Jan Carleklev has developed his project around the element of time. Relying on his knowledge about time as a composer, he transfers the rather abstract term into elements like event, transition, expectation and suspense. To design time, one can only succeed if one considers the attendee, acknowledging his/her role in creating an experience. The result is a conceptual piece appealing to multiple senses and crossing the boundaries between art, design and technology.
