The Mood Tunnel
The Mood Tunnel is an experiment of how a collective emotion could be reflected and translated as a composition in space. By obtaining and combining the audience’s body data, it seeks to create a connection among them while awaking the awareness of a collective mood or consciousness. The installation evokes a spaceship where the audience could dream of flying away to a place of empathy and equality, and where the physical sense of belonging to a group would appear as a first step to perceive a change in human relations. The Mood Tunnel represents a physical paradox, that of an infinite but unreachable tunnel. It alludes to frontier crossing between countries and the violation of intimacy that this crossing may sometimes require. The Mood Tunnel is a place to experience a form of togetherness, in which its audience may find a high level of connection among them as human beings.
